What we do, beyond selling stones

Most of our clients are not buying a single stone off a list. They are running a workshop, filling a repeating order, or building a collection over years — and each of those needs something different from us.

What we do

Standing sourcing mandates

Tell us the specification you buy repeatedly — species, colour, size band, clarity, volume — and we will work it at source on your behalf. You get first sight of matching material before it is offered elsewhere, and no obligation on anything you decline.

Matched suites & calibration

Matching colour across a suite is the hardest thing in coloured stones, and it is why we cut our own. We build matched lines and calibrated sizes from single pieces of rough wherever the material allows — at the volumes a production floor actually needs.

Rough parcels

An equal half of the business, not a sideline. Graded, sorted parcels of Panjshir emerald rough and Nuristan/Kunar tourmaline rough, priced by parcel with an honest assessment of likely yield rather than an optimistic one. Specimen crystals are set aside intact for collectors.

Cutting & recutting

We cut our own material across five benches — Antwerp for precision and single high-value stones, Kabul for work done at the source, Wuzhou, Guangzhou and Shenzhen for calibrated and volume goods, Chanthaburi for corundum, where the graders have the best eye for a red anywhere, and Jaipur for calibrated goods at depth. We use their cutting benches, not their burners. The finest single stones are cut by hand. The stone goes to whichever bench suits it, and it never changes owner on the way.

Cut to your specification, or recut inherited and older goods to modern proportions. We will tell you before we start whether a recut is worth the weight loss — sometimes it plainly is not.

Laboratory certification

Certification is acquired on request rather than bundled into the price. Identification, origin opinion and confirmation that the material is untreated, through whichever recognised international laboratory your market expects — submitted before delivery rather than after, and at cost.

Guaranteed provenance

We guarantee the provenance of every stone we sell. Panjshir, Nuristan, Kunar or Jegdalek — we name the province, not merely the country, we put it in writing on the invoice, and we will explain how we know. Where a laboratory origin opinion exists it is supplied with the stone. If we cannot stand behind an origin, we do not claim it and we price the stone accordingly.

Export, compliance & hand delivery

Correct export from origin, clearance into the destination market and then delivery by hand, carried by one of our own people and handed to you in person, insured throughout. All documentation issued as standard.

Capability

Any quality. Any size. Any shape. Any quantity.

Before the services, the plain answer to the question clients ask first: yes, and here is the range it holds across.

Every grade

Quality

From clean commercial goods a workshop can buy by the dozen, up to single collector stones that come out of the ground once a season.

  • Commercial through to collector
  • Never heated, oiled or resined
  • Eye-clean to loupe-clean
  • Certification by the lab you name
5–500 ct +

Size

Single stones from commercial weights up to museum pieces. Giant stones do come out of these valleys — rarely, but they come out, and when they do we see them first.

  • Statement stones, 5–20 ct
  • Major stones, 20–100 ct
  • Exceptional, 100–500 ct
  • Above that, ask — it happens
Any cut

Shape

We cut our own, so shape is a decision rather than a constraint. Send a template and we will work the rough to it.

  • Step, brilliant and mixed cuts
  • Cabochon and cat’s-eye
  • Calibrated to your template
  • Rough or cut, your choice
By the kilo

Quantity

Wholesale lots by weight, sized to what you actually run — kilos of a single material, hundreds of thousands of carats, with major stones inside them.

  • Graded wholesale lots by weight
  • Parcels measured in kilos
  • Standing seasonal supply
  • Exceptional single stones

Exceptional stones

When something extraordinary comes out

Every so often the ground gives up something that belongs in an auction catalogue or a museum case rather than a parcel. Those stones are placed, not listed.

Because we are first to see the material, major stones reach us before they reach the market. We hold a small standing list of houses, auction specialists and institutions who want that call, and we make it before anything is offered publicly. If you buy at that level, tell us what you are looking for and we will put you on it.

We will also work a standing mandate in the other direction: give us a specification for an exceptional stone and we will hunt it across the season, which can take a full working year in the sizes that matter.

Questions

The things clients ask first

Q

Do you sell to private buyers?

Yes, if you are buying at our scale. We supply mining houses, wholesalers, manufacturers, auction houses, institutions and established dealers, and we deal with private buyers who are transacting at that level. What we do not do is small orders — the size of the deal is what decides it, not whether you have a company behind you.

Q

Is there a minimum?

In practice, yes. We are either selling wholesale lots by weight or exceptional single stones. If you need one or two small stones, we are the wrong house and will say so rather than waste your time.

Q

Are your stones certified?

Laboratory reports are supplied with the stone or arranged before delivery. We will name the laboratory before you commit, and we can submit to a specific laboratory of your choosing at cost.

Q

Can I inspect a stone before paying?

Established trade clients can view on memo. For new clients we supply high-resolution photography and video first, and a stone can be sent to an independent laboratory before payment clears.

Q

Are the stones treated?

No. Nothing we sell is heated, oiled, resined, fracture-filled or diffused. For tourmaline that is normal. For ruby it is not — the overwhelming majority of ruby on the market is heated. For emerald it is rarer still: the species is graded GIA Type III, meaning it is almost always included and almost always oiled, so an untreated eye-clean emerald is a different class of stone altogether. Put ours in front of any laboratory you like.

Q

How do the goods reach us?

By hand. We do not ship and we do not use carriers. A member of the house travels with the goods and hands them over in person — at your office, your vault or your bank — insured for the whole journey. Title and risk are set out on the invoice before anything moves.

Q

How can we pay?

We quote and invoice in the currency you settle in. We settle by bank transfer, in cash, or in major cryptocurrency, and we will consider other instruments on a case-by-case basis. On rare occasions, against the right material, we will trade in kind. Terms are agreed per account once a trading relationship is established, and every route is subject to the same identification and source-of-funds checks.

Q

Do you supply rough as well as cut stones?

Yes — graded rough parcels, priced by parcel, for houses that cut in-house. We will give you our own view of likely yield, and we would rather under-promise it.
